Happy New Year!!!

Hey Quilty Friends,

I spent all morning sewing the finishing touches for my new office! I made some bunting out of some rad koi fabric my mom bought me last summer and I curtain type thing to go behind the curtains for privacy!

The only thing I missed in 2012 was my sewing machine. I was so consumed with school that I feel like I missed out on some good projects! Oh well, such is life sometimes!

I hope 2013 is filled with lots of interesting projects. I hope if you are reading this, you are having a lovely day, wherever you are!

Brag for a friend

A few months back I "taught" a class on how to quilt my Snake Charmer quilt. I quoted taught because I'm not much of a teacher the sense of explaining each detail in depth. I really believe in learning by doing ... the more I tell you each detail that you need to do as you quilt the less you learn for yourself. Maybe it is lazy on my part, but I learned by just making things and I think other people should try learning that way too sometimes. ANYWAYS ... I was super excited when Emily showed me her fabric because I had envisioned this quilt with bright colors and black background but hadn't gotten around to making it. She did such a great job and she even did a pieced backing! I'm happy to report Emily has been bitten by the quilting bug and is working on her second quilt already!
